Maeve’s move to attend Dexter Southfield was a room shaker for sure. They’ve got a new coach and Maeve’s powers (no pun intended) will be very uplifting. Last season she torched the MIAA with tons of bigtime games. The playmaking and shot-making ability will undeniably transfer to NEPSAC. She’s a special type of talent.

Maeve Powers Maeve Powers 5'7" | CG Dexter Southfield | 2028 State New E (2027) | 5’7 CG | DB Elite
The DB Elite star is someone who’s a primary playmaker and a crucial first option attacker. She’s a wizard with the ball in her hands, creating things from what seems to be nothing. Powers carves out space and gets separation despite defenders crowding her space in isolation possessions. Maeve can finish with either hand, sporting a nice touch on layups from both sides of the rim. Her counter moves are next level and she benefits from the exploitation of misplaced defenders.

Maeve is currently the #2 highest scoring player in the competitive Patriot League. Not only has she been a tremendously potent scorer, but she provides a level of playmaking that next level coaches would marvel at. Her skillset is polished and picturesque coming from a versatile scoring guard. Powers has led her team to a 9-1 start to the season. North Quincy is looking to keep things rolling; there’s been a precedence set to obtain great seeding for the postseason. In her last game vs crosstown rival Quincy, Maeve scored 21 points, including putting together a stretch where she scored 9 straight. Her midrange is refreshing and keeps defenders constantly guessing on how to guard her properly. Her ability to make in-game reads and adjustments are admirable. Powers was deemed a player to watch this season, but she’s been even more majestic than initially thought. This level of play will have her moving up the ranks and garnering attention from some scholarship level schools soon.

Maeve Powers Maeve Powers 5'7" | CG Dexter Southfield | 2028 State New E is on a fast-track to becoming a well-known name in Massachusetts. Her improvement over the last year and a half is astonishing. The 5’7 dynamic guard has enhanced every part of her game in such a short time. Powers is a player that can play within the system while running developed offensive sets, but still retains the ability to change the course of the game with her scoring. She masks her 3-level scoring with the look of a traditional floor general. When Maeve gets rolling, it’s hard to stop her. She seems to manipulate the defense into getting the quality looks she wants, without ever doing too much. Powers isn’t a player that will dribble the air out of the ball when looking to get a bucket, she takes a much more methodical approach that can rock a defender to sleep. She packs a quick burst of speed when getting to the basket downhill and when she draws paint attention from those who step up, she is able to find her teammates, regardless of where they are on the floor.
