Expert Analysis

Maggie gets a chance to play at the next level. She has already committed and the one thing she’s always been known for is her ability to defend. There may not be a better defender in the area, and a thing about her defenses, she’s able to turn the ball over which leads to opportunities. Yes she can defend, but she can also score, knocking down long shots or making the great pass for an easy shot. She has good range and is a viable threat from behind the arc.

The best defender in the league, Maggie has made her decision to Mount Vernon Nazarene. She can lock you down and frustrate you all game long. Love her ability to anticipate the game and create havoc at that end of the floor. Offensively, Maggie is an efficient player, doesn’t shoot a lot of threes but will score in a variety of ways.

With Berry recovering from injury, Maggie was the only main experience back on the court for Waynesville on Friday and provided good leadership. One of the best players in the gym the entire weekend, her defense is stellar and likely the best defender in the gym last weekend. Might be the best overall defender in the Dayton area. She has skills for the next level!

No doubt the best defender in the gym! She created fits for her opponents in the games I saw. She is so underrated by most people in the game, but her court awareness and ability to force mistakes cannot be measured by numbers. Active hands and such a smart player.

Maggie has some speed, which allows her to run the floor and score transition buckets. When her team takes off on fast breaks, she does a good job at keeping the floor spread out and cutting through the gaps of the defense. Stephenson is a dynamic player who can score in many ways and always keeps the play going if it goes dead. She will also take away the extra pass and enter the passing lanes which allows her to get a lot of steals.

Maggie has some speed which helps her run the floor with ease. On rapid breakaway, she darts out to the races and glides past several defenders with so little effort, she finds the gaps and takes off. Stephenson is a creative player who can score and locates her open teammates! She will also take away the extra pass and get in the passing lanes. She moved off the watch list to number 39.

One of the more underrated kids in the area, Maggie will lock you down, force mistakes and capitalize on them. She is all over the court and I really like how hard she plays the game. Plays the game with heart and I love that in a player. Able to score in a variety of ways and she is only a sophomore. Her game has a very high ceiling as she continues to grow her game!

OK, so I didn’t get to see her in the summer, and Saturday was the first time I had the chance to see her in action. Very impressive hard nosed kid who will run through a wall if needed. She has a nose for the ball and will do whatever it takes to make a play. She has a good perimeter game with the ability to knock down the three, or get by her defender to finish in the paint.
I am a believer. Such a tough kid who really has good court vision and gets the ball where it needs to be. Can finsih with either hand and her slick handles make her difficult to defend.
