Maicy Baker led MOC-Floyd Valley High School last season in APG while also putting up respectable numbers within the scoring and rebounding categories as well. Baker, the 5’5 PG/CG, is the type of player that you can move between the 1, 2, or 3 positions as a Guard. She is at her best coming down the floor and dishing off the rock but she can also move off the ball with some success. She does a great job of running and cutting into open spaces, usually getting behind the defense in one way or another for a simple look at the rim if her teammates can get her the ball. Defensively she has active hands and the feet to match. She makes quick reads within the open court and that + her pressure makes her a tough opponent for most to stick with within this Conference throughout the season.

Baker demonstrated her worth mainly at the PG position, handing out some swift assists while also scoring it herself whenever she needed too. She isn’t the type to try and kill her opponent with flash but more-so with her fundamental game. She knows how to get past her initial defender and into the teeth of the defense off the dribble, helping her open up the floor to a bunch of different possibilities offensively. On defense, she makes quick work of sticking on the person in front of her within her matchup. She never is the type to get beat off her first step and she is always mentally locked in on what could be coming at her next. I think Baker has a memorable season ahead. If she has been working this off-season, she will be just fine.
