Maila Woodberry is the prototype point guard that can take over games especially in crunch time. She is an excellent ball handler and is dynamic in transition. She is a 3 level scorer that will take what the defense dictates to her and she is a terrific passer. She has tremendous leadership and poise in pressure situations and she can be a shut down defender. Look for Woodberry to help her team make a run at a State Title in the next two years.

showed that she is back to full speed and then some after a recent injury that slowed her Spring preparation. She is a lightning quick point guard that has tremendous ball handling skills. She has really improved her defensive skills and her presence on the court. She is confident and always under control. She is an outstanding play maker and she can create shots for herself off the dribble or for her teammates. Malia is also a very good deep range shooter and getting better. She will be a highly recruited player over the next several months.

The athletic point guard played as advertised. She’s a floor general who looks to make positive plays and not just for herself. She displayed a good change of pace with the ball. I love that she played with the same energy on defense as she did on offense.

Woodberry is a quick-twitch guard who will have you on your heels the entire game. She has a good change of direction and looks to attack the gaps in the defense. Defensively, she has quick hands and the foot speed to cover a lot of the floor.
