Marlee Emerson Marlee Emerson 5'6" | PG Norris | 2027 State NE always shows up. It might not always be in the same way each contest but when Emerson competes, she makes it known that she is on the floor. Primarily she runs the PG spot for her teams, setting up the players around her so that they can run their system. Defensively, she is very good at guarding her own position and disrupting the timing of whatever the opposing team is trying to accomplish. Which is what you need when you aren’t the tallest player on the floor. All in all, Emerson has shows promise. She has a good feel for the game overall and that is going to lead her places.

Norris High School put together a rememberable season last Winter overall. They won most of their games, their team chemistry looked on point, and they all seemed to be very dedicated at the task at hand all Winter long. During this run, a younger guard for the group that stepped up as a main prospect to note was Marlee Emerson Marlee Emerson 5'6" | PG Norris | 2027 State NE and she is someone to keep an eye on once again for her Junior campaign this season. Emerson was not only a scoring threat for the Titans, she was also a solid rebounder, a sound defender, and someone who liked to take Charges in some key moments. Emerson ended up averaging .40 CPG last season, ranking her within the Top 25 within the State. This number might not seem like much but almost averaging half a Charge for your year is a high number. Most others are lucky to take 3/4 Charges throughout this season as a whole so doing that every other game, in a 23-26 game season is definitely something. I’m hoping that Emerson can replicate what she set in place as a Sophomore last year. If they play their cards right, the success should follow.

Marlee Emerson Marlee Emerson 5'6" | PG Norris | 2027 State NE helped her team this past weekend to a 4-0 record, including hitting a game-winning step back three over a defender in one of their contests specifically. Emerson has been consistent these past 8 months. She did a good job making her presence known during school ball at Norris this Winter and she has seemingly carried that over to the AAU season with her Lasers program as well. Emerson is quick-off the dribble with a lot of tenacity. She is willing to attack the defense going either way, while being able to stop and pop for a jumper or to get all the way to the bucket for an attempt. She can also find others at a pretty high rate because of her ability to use her dribble to create space. Defensively, she is no slouch. She can guard her position better than most and that’s been evident these past few weeks on the road. There is a lot to like here. If Emerson keeps this up, there is sure to be a school or two that will be getting in touch in the near future.

Marlee Emerson Marlee Emerson 5'6" | PG Norris | 2027 State NE makes some crafty moves off the dribble. It’s somewhat eye opening even knowing that Emerson can play. One of the best attributes about Emerson’s game is that she doesn’t let the defense dictate what she does offensively. Instead, she takes her time, see’s the whole floor and situation unfolding around her, and THEN she works from there. On multiple occasions this weekend Emerson was showing off her polished handle, impressive footwork, and deep knowledge of the game. If she continues to compete at this type of level, it’s only a matter of time before she will have some collegiate recruiters asking about her future.

I think it’s going to be an important season for PG – Marlee Emerson Marlee Emerson 5'6" | PG Norris | 2027 State NE of Norris High School. Emerson already proved last season that she was going to be a staple for this program throughout the next three years at the Varsity level. Each game that she played in, she showed her worth as a Guard in their system and I’m excited to see how she is going to build on the foundation she set in place during that time. During AAU, Emerson helped her Nebraska Lasers program to respectable weekends, all over the Midwest. With that in consideration, I’m expecting a big Winter ahead for the Norris Titans but we will just have to wait and see. If Emerson has anything to say about it, it’s going to be a fun year to be a Titans fan.

Marlee Emerson Marlee Emerson 5'6" | PG Norris | 2027 State NE is a leader and a game changer at the Point Guard position from what I’ve seen so far. Emerson is the type of guard, that can lead her team in several different aspects. She can do it by scoring the rock at an elite rate, she can facilitate others each time down the court, and she can move off of the ball with ease. This is someone that leads her team’s by example. She communicates well and she is very good at figuring out her opponent’s weaknesses, early on in a contest. As long as she stays efficient in her play style moving forward, I don’t see why she couldn’t produce at the next level in a few different ways. She has shown that this AAU season and I’m hoping she can carry that momentum into the near future.

Marlee Emerson Marlee Emerson 5'6" | PG Norris | 2027 State NE is coming off of a Winter in which she helped her Varsity team at Norris High School get to the State Tournament. Emerson is a Guard that stands at around 5’6 and she is versatile in her play-style on the floor. She can work on and off of the ball in different ways but definitely makes her presence felt when she has the rock in her hands and she is helping lead her team. As a Freshman she averaged 5 PPG, 3 RPG, and right under 2 APG in attempts to help her squad in different aspects of the game. She is competing with the Nebraska Lasers AAU program this Spring/Summer season, looking to take that momentum with her from this past few months at the Varsity level and channel it into having a fantastic season looking ahead moving into this Summer.
