Meara Russell Meara Russell 5'9" | CG/SG Gravette | 2027 State AR is a 5’9” combo guard/shooting guard in the 2027 class who brings size, versatility, and a strong all-around skill set to the backcourt. Russell attends Gravette High School in Arkansas and competes on the club circuit with the NWA Bruins.

At the Texas Tip-Off, Russell showed why she is a prospect worth tracking. She has the ability to play on or off the ball, giving her team flexibility in different lineups. Offensively, she is comfortable creating her own shot, attacking gaps, and spacing the floor as a perimeter threat. Her size at the guard position allows her to see over defenders, make reads, and finish through contact when she gets downhill.

Russell plays with a steady pace and does not look rushed when pressured. She understands how to get into the flow of the game, makes smart decisions, and can impact winning without needing to dominate the ball. Her court vision, scoring ability, and ability to play multiple guard spots make her a valuable piece in the backcourt.

Defensively, Russell has the tools to guard multiple positions. Her length and frame allow her to contest shots, pressure the ball, and compete against physical guards. As she continues to improve her consistency, strength, and overall aggression, her upside will continue to grow.

Russell averaged 10 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.1 steals a contest, which was good enough for her to be recognized as an all-conference performer. She had several strong performances throughout the year, including 16-point efforts against Prairie Grove and Huntsville, and 14-point outings against Pea Ridge and Lavaca.

The last time we saw Russell in the summer circuit, she went off. She averaged 10.6 points over 5 games at the Des Moines summer finale in July. Throughout the circuits and high school games, Russell has shown off her high IQ play. She is a good scorer, particularly around the basket, and she is not afraid of contact. Her defense is stellar, forcing turnovers left and right.
