About Mia
Expert Analysis
Brandon Bradley | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Mia is one of those really nice small school forwards where everything runs through her. She has a fairly strong frame, she’s willing to be physical, but she’s also a solid athlete in most directions. She can put it on the floor productively, find open teammates, and even initiate the offense. She’s best scoring it inside of 15-feet, and she understands leverage and how to score against height/length. Mia can also knock down the mid-range jumper consistently. Defensively, she’ll play bigger than she is, she rebounds outside of her area, plus she can come out on the floor and defend wings.

Mia used her length and quick lateral footwork to pester guards on the perimeter, diving on the floor to wrestle away 50/50 balls. She has a solid build that helps her absorb contact on her way to the basket and finish with strength at the rim. Mia attacked hard downhill and drove by defenders with a burst to score layups and get to the line. She knocked down back-to-back free throws and demonstrated excellent court vision as a facilitator, reversing the court with strong skip passes to give teammates open looks. Mia handles the ball well under pressure and does a great job of getting defenders on her hip. She’s a threat from beyond the arc and had a solid tournament for 5Star Basketball 17U at the PGH Great Lakes Region Finals.

Mia had a nice Winter for John Glenn, helping them to an 18-6 record while averaging 12.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. She has a solid to strong frame, she plays with some physicality at all levels, and she has a nice motor. She likes to operate in the mid-post a lot and she looks to shoot or drive it from there. She’s also willing to get inside and rebound/defend, but she can step outside to the arc and attack the basket from the 3-point line. The next step for her game is to make her 3-point shot a bit more consistent.

Mia is a long and lanky athletic wing who does a really nice job on ball defensively, quick and active with her feet and hands. She’s everywhere. Oh, and she also can drop a nice mid range shot. She plays with heart and grit, and that’s one thing I like about her is her effort and work ethic on the court. She has one mission, and that’s to get the ball in the basket.
