Wasted no time making an impact as a freshman at Rabun County, stepping into a major role and producing right away. She averaged 12.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.1 steals per game, showing her ability to contribute across the board. Southards plays with confidence and poise, capable of knocking down perimeter shots while also creating off the bounce. What stands out is her feel—she doesn’t force the game and understands how to balance scoring with her physical playmaking.

Southards plays the point guard position with a level of polish that’s rare for her age. She controls tempo, makes smart decisions, and consistently looks to involve her teammates. Strong and poised, she navigates through traffic with confidence and finishes with either hand at the rim. She can score when needed—whether with mid-range pull-ups or from beyond the arc—but her ability to facilitate is what stands out. She rebounds exceptionally well for her position and defends with physicality without fouling. A complete guard with a very high ceiling.

Millie is another freshman who has quietly put together a very impressive season in helping her team to a 23-5 record and a spot in the second round of the tournament. Millie played excellent against Armuchee in round one running her team’s offense and finding open scorers to start the game. As the game went on she started to assert herself offensively scoring the ball. Southards is borderline too unselfish at times and could easily have scored 3-4 more baskets in the game but gave the ball up to teammates who were more open or in a better position to score. Defensively, Southards plays with an edge. You will not get anything easy if she is guarding you. She has a knack for getting into offensive players and ripping the ball out clean before starting the fast break for Rabun. Millie has elite ball handling and passing which was evident in the game, but also has the ability to put a big number scoring the ball if her team needs it. Millie has received interest from a couple schools after that performance, one in the ACC and the other in the SEC.

Millie is one of the very best players in her class in the state. She plays the game with passion, competes on every play, and leaves it all on the floor. I was happy to see her become more vocal in the late stages of a very close game. A big step for the freshman, but Southards has earned the respect of her teammates after an outstanding season. She plays with flare, fire, and a lot of skill. Millie has elite ball handing and quickness and plays much bigger than her size. She is very effective scoring the ball inside and on the break as well as shooting the ball from 12-15 feet and behind the three point line. Millie is already on the radar of several high division one schools and could elevate herself into a Power Four recruit over the next three years.

Southards played with her normal aggressiveness on both ends of the floor and did so well. She is a relentless competitor who always leaves everything on the court. She is the team’s best on ball defender taking the opponents best player and applying pressure every possession. Offensively, Southards is very skilled. She is an excellent shooter from deep and attacks the basket with reckless abandon, converting layups or getting to the free throw line. Southards has all of the ability and intangibles to have a great high school career.

Southards is a highly competitive point guard with a D-I ceiling. She controls pace, makes advanced reads, and delivers pinpoint passes. She’s strong, skilled, and tough — a floor general who handles pressure and shoots with confidence. Her pit bull mentality shows in how she defends and rebounds.

Strong-framed freshman with great court vision and feel. Southards is a balanced guard who can score or facilitate. She hits threes off the bounce, makes drive-and-kick reads, and brings physicality to the defensive end. Future D-I floor general.

Millie has a veteran feel. She’s a strongly built point guard that gets to her spots well. Southards has a bounce to her step, able to crossover defenders and explode to the rim. Millie is a pass-first distributor with sharp passes and great vision but she’s also a steady scorer from all levels with a smooth three-point shot.

Strong mature playmaker with shiftiness. Bouncy on her feet. Changes directions. Great court vision. Steady three-point shooter.
