Addy Beth is about as steady and reliable a guard as you will find in North Georgia. AB quietly goes about her business on the court to great effect, but it was nice to see her show some emotion after making a huge three to beat the buzzer at the end of the third quarter. Owens play great defense, rebounds really well for her size, and run’s the Rabun County offense with command. She stepped up huge late in this game and made some critically important shots from three for her team. Owens finished as the game’s leading scorer with 20 points, many of which came late when the game was on the line. Owens play, along with Southards and Thompson, could take this team very deep in the state playoffs.

Owens had a very good game running the point for Rabun County. She did a good job facilitating the offense for the Wildcats first but took advantage of scoring opportunities when they presented themselves. Owens is a very good ballhandler and passer. She shot the ball very well from three-point range and got to the basket and finished. She used her quickness on defense to cause multiple turnovers, including multiple steals while guarding the ball.

She has quick instincts to pick off passes and uses active hands to force turnovers as an on-ball defender. Owens is crafty when attacking the basket with eurosteps and is a dangerous three-point shooter off the catch. AB nailed three three-pointers and averaged 6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4.5 steals in two games against Gilmer and Lamar County.

Owens understood the flow of the game and instead of trying to drive the ball into traffic, did a great job of making the extra pass to find open shooters.
