She knocks down jumpers so opposing players need to keep an eye on where she is at on the court. She thrives in the transition game too, spreading the floor well and getting open looks.

Natalie is a fundamental guard who excels at doing all the little things that make a big difference on the court. She rebounds exceptionally well for her position, showcasing her strength and tenacity in the paint. Natalie is always ready to hit the deep shot from the perimeter, making her a constant threat from beyond the arc. Additionally, she attacks the basket effectively, utilizing both hands to finish plays with versatility and control.

While her scoring jumped, she never sacrificed her strengths—remaining a strong rebounder and relentless competitor. Buchanan’s activity level stands out, as she’s constantly attacking the rim or pressuring the ball defensively. Her growth into a larger offensive role added another dimension to Black Hills’ attack and solidified her All-League status.

Natalie is a nice glue player for Black Hills and has the ability to rebound the ball very, very well. She uses her strength and isn’t afraid of contact in the paint. She reads the ball off the rim really well and hustles for the long rebounds. Natalie brings energy to the court and knocks down shots from deep at a high percentage, always staying ready to let it fly. 

Buchanan embodied heart and hustle for Black Hills, earning Second Team All-League honors. Averaging over 8 rebounds per game—including 70 offensive boards—she played with relentless energy. Always active and attacking, Buchanan became increasingly dangerous from beyond the arc as the season progressed, knocking down threes at an efficient clip. On defense, her effort led to countless deflections and forced turnovers. She’s the kind of teammate every player wants—tough, selfless, and dependable.
