It was in October when Asbelle declared she would be in the Division I ranks at UNC-Asheville of the Big South Conference. Asbelle has put together an illustrious career with Andrew Jackson – one that saw her be part of the nucleus of a pair of 2A state championship teams. She played in 31 games last season and averaged 20.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.6 steals per game. Those are certainly Division I numbers for someone with the Division I-level talent Asbelle possesses.
