Caban is one of the premier playmakers in the region. Her handle is top tier and she has a natural influence on the flow of the game. Nyasia is ranked as the #11 player within the class.

Nyasia is a point guard with excellent handle, poise, and pace. She uses her quickness and control to get into the lane to score or distribute. Her crossover is tough, and she’s effective at scoring and creating out of ball screens. Nyasia also has an outside shot and midrange, making her a threat at all three levels. What sets Nyasia apart is her craftiness — the way she uses her footwork and pace to stay unpredictable. The NEPSGBA Class C Player of the Year, she’s already proven herself and is only getting better.

Nyasia may very well have some of the most lethal handle skills in her class. Her dribbling skills work in tandem with her footwork. The ballhandling ability seems to be on a string and she keeps her head on a swivel to be able to make the right plays in a timely manner. More recently it appeared as if Caban has found her groove. In a game the other day vs a very talented Tilton team, she scored 18 points, dished 3 assists out plus contributed 3 steals. At first glance, Caban is a striking talent, but there’s so much more to her game. The tape really shows it all with Nyasia; she’s a player that gets more intriguing the more she’s analyzed.

Nyasia is one of the most dynamic guards in the class. Incredibly talented and she has a high-level skillset. Cuban gets the angle on defenders by turning the corner quickly. She is deceptively fast in a straight line, but even more speedy laterally. The quick bursting speed in combination with the crafty handle make her a matchup nightmare for anyone. Nyasia has a smooth pullup shot and a fantastic release point that allows her to get her shot off in front of anybody. She’s a constant threat in isolation or within the offensive schemes. This is a tremendous talented guard that’s in for a big year.

Nyasia is a high-powered speed 2-way point guard that has an incredible amount of potential. The KUA sophomore uses a potent scissor-step to freeze defenders and allow her to appropriately assesses the scenario for that split-second before she pounces. Caban has a pullup jump shot that really elevates her game. The angles she chooses and that elevation she gets on the shot, would make it hard for even the best of defenders to get to. This is especially noteworthy being that Nyasia is standing at 5’4, so she needs that extra height on the shot. Her ability to smoothly operate off the pick & roll is another aspect that stands out. On the defensive side of the ball, Caban uses that speed to jump the passing lanes and get out in transition. She capitalizes on sloppy ballhandlers by constantly agitating them until she flusters them and they turn the ball over. Keep an eye out for Caban through this season.
