She is a good passer out of the pick-and-roll and does a great job finding teammates after collapsing defenses. Defensively, she’s strong on the ball and makes it difficult for opponents to operate freely. She also knocks down key three-point shots when her team needs spacing and scoring.

Stanley had a couple impressive highlights that could be talked about. However, there was a lot more shown from the ascending guard through the weekend. Her ability to disturb ballhandlers as defender, tendency to come away with 50/50 balls and offensive synergy with teammates stood out even more.

Lovena’s game hasn’t been fully unlocked just yet. This is a player with a tremendous capacity. Stanley can put herself in that upper tier of guards this AAU season. She’s in prime position to be able to showcase her decision-making with the ball in her hand a bit more. This spring/summer the table will be set nicely for her to take what’s hers.

Lovena helped lead Lawrence Academy to a second-place finish in NEPSAC Class B Large. She has a strong pull-up jumper in the mid-range, often beating her defender and getting one dribble inside the arc to create space. She also shows solid footwork on the perimeter, using moves such as step-backs to generate separation for her shot. Lovena attacks the basket with confidence and can finish well with either hand. On defense she shows good anticipation, jumping into passing lanes and creating steals.

Vs St Mark’s Lovena provided some key plays in critical moments. Stanley looked comfortable getting to ger shots, was able to provide solid defense from various spots on the floor and she pushed the pace. Stanley is a ’28 prospect that should be getting more attention.

Stanley is back bouncing back from injury. She’s good to go and ready to leave her mark for the remainder of the season. Already Lovena has looked like a fine 3-and-d piece in her first couple of games, one that’s well-equipped to add value to any lineup inserted. She’s going to be such a solid asset for Lawrence going forward.

Defensively, she’s always in the right spots, jumping passing lanes and anticipating plays before they develop. Lovena is an extremely aggressive defender who applies constant pressure, making it tough for opponents to advance the ball against her. She picks up full court and generates steals by relentlessly staying in her defender’s space. Offensively, she shoots the ball well from deep and finishes strongly with her weak hand. Lovena also uses floaters effectively, allowing her to score over taller defenders in the paint and remain a threat at every level.
