McKinnon is a back-to-the-basket player who is constantly working, showing a strong understanding of when to score and when to kick the ball out to open shooters. Drawing significant attention and contact on the block, when she gets to the free throw line she is able to convert. Defensively, she uses her length to jump passing lanes and reach around opponents for timely steals.

McKinnon has so much potential, and at times her upside is scary because she does things instinctively, like going AFTA the ball off the rim coming from out of nowhere, but she also did the same thing, came from out of nowhere to block shots. She finished stronger after contact around the basket, showed she could score off the dribble as well as facing the rim, and her interior defense also looked good

McKinnon is showing signs of creating some major problems on both ends and surrounding those signs are blinking lights, yet don’t blink. She’s “long and athletic” which is the base, she stands above “the magic number” yet watching her play the passing lane and go coast to coast to score, block shots, and go C2C and show the turnaround jumper was all big yet guess what, she followed her shot and went after the ball off the rim, on both ends

McKinnon has plenty of upside, she’s “long and athletic” which is the base and she stands above “the magic number” and those two things alone will have her on the short list of countless next-level coaches. How she progresses on the court will determine which level of the next level but her shot block and rebounding have already gotten better, and so has her finishing around the basket
