Expert Analysis
Grant McGinnis | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Every time we watch Giles, she reinforces our first impression that her potential is enormous. Sunday’s Expo provided more evidence. The 5’11 Brandon Valley freshman was among the most physically imposing players on the floor, combining size, strength and outstanding athleticism with a surprisingly polished skill set. Presley moves smoothly, covers ground effortlessly and possesses the body control to attack the basket with confidence. She’s much more than a traditional forward, handling the basketball comfortably, running the floor with purpose and displaying the versatility to score from multiple spots. Just as impressive is her presence. Giles carries herself like a player who knows she belongs, regardless of the age, size or ability level of her competition. There are few obvious limitations to Giles’ game, and her long-term ceiling is at the full scholarship level.

At 5-foot-11, Giles (pictured above) possesses the size and physical tools to immediately look the part of a college prospect, but it is the versatility of her game that makes her particularly intriguing. Paisley operates more like a big wing than a traditional forward, handling the basketball comfortably, seeing the floor and delivering smart, accurate passes. She plays with pace, excels in transition and has the stride and athleticism to cover ground quickly in the open floor. Giles can stretch defenses with legitimate three-point range, attack off the bounce and finish with a soft touch around the basket. She also uses her length effectively on the glass and has the mobility to defend multiple positions. There simply aren’t many obvious limitations to her game and the sky is the limit as Giles continues to develop.
