Peyton Gentry Peyton Gentry 5'7" | PG Scott City | 2027 State KS was probably the biggest surprise performances I caught live this summer. In June I was able to catch Scott City’s high school team in action. While she might not have been on my radar heading into the game, it didn’t take long for her to grab my attention. She showed good handles with confidence, even under pressure, and her ability to make sharp, accurate passes stood out. A couple of those passes were those “oh” moments where you just lean back in your seat in amazement. She has the tools to be a key piece for Scott City this season, and I’ll be keeping an eye on her continued development.

Peyton has shown to be a dedicated defender who leads with her energy and intensity. She defines pressure defense by constantly hounding the ball, disrupting passing lanes, and making life hard for opposing guards from start to finish. She provides a defensive edge that every team needs. She’s a scrappy, hard-working guard who thrives in pressure situations and loves to disrupt opposing offenses. Her intensity and defensive mindset make her a valuable asset on the perimeter.

Peyton Gentry Peyton Gentry 5'7" | PG Scott City | 2027 State KS , a 2027 guard from Scott City, continued to get my attention with her performance at the Kansas Roots Summer Smash. A lengthy guard with strong ball-handling skills, Gentry consistently demonstrates elite court vision and a natural feel for the game. She delivered multiple highlight-worthy assists across two events last week, threading the ball with precision passes that put her quick high-level decision-making skills on display. What sets Gentry apart is her versatility. Her height allows her to shift into the high post when needed, creating mismatches and adding another dimension to her game. As she heads into her junior year, expect her to make serious waves with her combination of basketball IQ, passing ability, and athleticism.
