Lodes, who had a terrific sophomore season, where she averaged 17.9 ppg while shooting 36% from distance, made the list as one of my Top Performers from The Expo. Showing a consistent outside shot, Lodes was dangerous, not only on catch-and-shoot opportunities, but also off the dribble, creating space for herself while also showing a high IQ in making the correct read with the ball in her hands.

Lodes is an excellent scorer who can play on or off the ball and find ways to punish defenses. The lefty shot the ball well from the perimeter and punished defenses whenever she had room to shoot it. I also loved how comfortable she looked when she had the ball under pressure. She was one of the better scorers in the gym.

The Kettle Moraine guard grew into her role last season and was one of the top guards in the Classic Eight last winter. The lefty is among the state’s best set shooters and can knock down perimeter jumpers with regularity. I also thought she did an excellent job forcing the issue off the dribble and putting pressure on defenses, forcing them to rotate and help her teammates get open looks on the perimeter.

The Kettle Moraine guard has improved a lot over the past year and looks a little more athletic each time I see her play. She changed directions, and even though she was the smallest player in her group, she got to the rim well. I also like that she played through mistakes and didn’t stop in skills work. Something minor a few kids did, but it shows some problem-solving ability.

What makes Lodes as productive as she is is her mentality. The KM guard is as positive as anyone and is a team-first player to her core. She stepped into a prominent offensive role in her sophomore season and played well in her first year with that type of responsibility. However, a quick tidbit that describes her best happened last weekend. She missed a free throw late that would’ve tied the game, I believe, and was called on to take the last shot to win the game, and didn’t hesitate. The way she responds to adversity is as impressive as anything she does on the floor, and she was an 18pts/4reb/2stl player and an all-conference player in one of the best conferences in the state.

The Kettle Moraine guard came into her own this past high school season and was comfortable being the focal point of the Lasers’ offense. She shot the ball well and was comfortable attacking the basket and making plays in the paint. There is still plenty of room for growth, but she will be a fun player to watch with her Wisconsin Lakers UAA team this spring and summer.

The Kettle Moraine newcomer played her best basketball to end her first season as a Laser. Once she found her role within that senior-latent team and gained confidence, Lodes became a reason that led KM to a Regional Title on the road against a solid Oregon team. Her ability to shoot would always come around, even if shots didn’t fall early, but she showed some more aspects to her game with her ability to do some things off the dribble when the ball got to her on the weak side. There’s room to grow, but she showed plenty of growth over the high school season.

The Kettle Moraine guard has come alive in these last four games. In her previous four games, heading into a massive Classic Eight game with Muskego tonight, the Laser newcomer is averaging 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on 50/43/100 splits. In the early going, you could tell she was trying to find her footing and where she fit alongside an experienced group of kids, but she’s comfortable now. Lodes looks more confident, doesn’t hesitate when the ball gets in her hands, and she’s attacking off the dribble against talented kids. She has zero fear at the moment. She’s reacting to what defenses are giving her.
