The Waunakee wing is a player who has improved in each of her first few seasons at the high school level. Van Wie has gained confidence, will get to her spots, and is a threat on that end of the floor. However, what separates her from everyone in her class is the fire and energy she brings to the floor. The passion she plays with is palpable, and she plays desperately. She competes defensivley and seems like a perfectionist. She takes pride in her defense and will make anyone work for whatever they get offensively.

As talented as the top of the 2028 class is, Van Wie may be the kid I enjoy watching the most in this class. She doesn’t need the ball to be effective and comes off the bench for Waunakee, but if you could bottle up the energy she plays with, you could provide power to the entire state. She’s electric. Van Wie doesn’t know how to not play at 100 miles per hour. She attacks the glass like her life depends on it, defends the ball like she needs air to breathe, and looks desperate to force turnovers in Wauankee’s press. She’s been a low-volume offensive threat due to the talent around her, but there’s more to her offensive game.

Keira Van Wie Keira Van Wie 6'0" | SG Waunakee | 2028 State WI was a prospect this past weekend that showed off her potential while competing. Van Wie plays up a grade level and starts for her Purple Aces 2027 National team. This weekend she demonstrated that she is a strong rebounder who jumps to the ball on both ends, she can guard a handful of different positions, she can shoot the basketball at a high rate from the perimeter, and she can make others around her better. As long as she continues to work on her game and grind in the offseason, she is going to be a promising prospect over her high school career.
