About Raegann

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to play both back to the basket as well as out on the perimeter. My strengths primarily lie in scoring as well as defending down low. I love to get out and rim run in transition for easy buckets, and I've been focusing lately on developing my outside game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very hardworking a dedicaited person that brings energy to the court. I love to play an upbeat an energetic game and hype my teammates up. Basketball is a lot more fun when we're all working together and supporting one another.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am very active in my youth group as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, NHS, and Youth Leaders in Kansas. I serve on CADCA's National Youth Advisory Council which works to prevent substance misuse and mental health issues in teens and worked on the Kansas Planning Committee to start a CADCA group in our state. I received the Circle of Excellence and iLead awards from the state of Kansas.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Both basketball and my roles in other organizations have taught me how to lead diverse groups of people. It's important that everyone on a team knows they are valued and welcome within the group, and I make that a priority on the court. Tearing my ACL also taught me how to be the best teammate I can, by cheering others on and highlighting their successes.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I tore my ACL in early January of my sophomore year. The thought of being hurt scared me so much that I finished out the remainder of the season before I decided to get it checked out. Being sidelined for eight months was by far the biggest challenge that I've gone through throughout my athletic career, but it also taught me how to face adversitiy.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for somewhere that is going to challenge me to become the best player that I can be. I love competition--it drives me. I am hoping to have a family atmosphere at well and feel like I belong on campus.

McDonald brings good size to the position and scoring ability with either hand. She also will take opposing bigs to the hole from the high paint area. As her face-up and back-to-basket game grow she has the potential to be one of the top bigs in class 4A.
