The day’s four-game schedule commenced with a matchup featuring Gray Collegiate and First Baptist. A seven-point performance courtesy of Mayers was integral in getting the War Eagles in the win column to improve its record to 6-2. Mayers may have only made one attempt from the field, but she did what coaches want players to do in close matchups against good teams – get to the free throw line. Five of her seven points were at the charity stripe and that wins tough games more often than not. Mayers has more experience than the average sophomore given she has played at the varsity level since the seventh grade and one can see it in her play.

Raina understands she does her best work around the paint area. She collects rebounds and a few bruises along the way each time out. Raina does a nice job of keeping the ball up high after claiming it off the glass. Mayers will look to contribute more and more minutes this season to the Lady War Eagles and Head Coach Brandon Wallace program.

Raina was playing down on the block here today for her squad. She can post up and play with her back to the basket. Mayers was able to go out top and set screens and did a nice job of playing away from the ball. She fronted the post at times and felt comfortable playing down in the paint.
Raina should contribute some good quality minutes this season for the defending Class 2A Lady War Eagles program and Head Coach Brandon Wallace.

Mayers looks to be a good one for the Lady War Eagles moving forward. Raina already has good size down in the post. Raina will have some good players to learn from on this roster for Head Coach Brandon Wallce.
