She has a presence on the court that is undeniable—she plays with strength, aggression, and relentless effort. James battles for every rebound and loose ball, setting the tone with her tenacity. Beyond her hustle, she’s a capable scorer with solid ball-handling skills. In western Kansas, she stands out as one of the most physically dominant players I’ve had the chance to watch. Expect her to make noise throughout the rest of the summer and into her junior season.

Reilly James is a gritty, strong, high-IQ hooper who plays with a calm confidence and consistently makes the right reads. Her ball handling is clean, her vision is underrated, and she thrives in setting up teammates while also being capable of scoring in a number of ways. James doesn’t force the issue—she plays within the system, but when a big moment is needed, she’s not afraid to step up and take control.

James is currently on the “Watch List” for the Kansas Class of 2027, but will make her debut in the rankings in November. She scored eight points per game for Dighton as a freshman. She scores well in transition and finds different ways to get to the free-throw line. James converted on 69-of-107 attempts from the charity stripes a season ago.
