Up against the defending Class 6A state champs, Riley put forth an incredible effort against River Ridge. The senior guard exploded for 30 of her team’s 42 points in an 18-point loss. Every time Bensman touched the ball, something good happened. She scored from all levels, finding great success especially on drives, dropping in floaters, scoring through contact and finishing with both hands. Riley drained five threes and collected 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. Considering the opponent, Bensman put forth one of the best efforts you will see at the fall league.
