Prep Girls Hoops hosted the Triumph Region Finals in Spartanburg, SC this weekend where we had teams from all across the southeast come to compete against one another to take home the trophy. The following athletes have earned the title of “GameChanger” because their performance drove their teams to victory and shifted the momentum in their teams’ favor. Let’s take a look at some of the GameChangers from the weekend.
Riley Bensman
Riley Bensman
Riley Bensman was scoring on all levels throughout the tournament. She seemed to be involved in every play for her team whether she was attacking the basket, knocking down her shot from deep, or making a nice dish to her teammates inside. She found the open lane herself, or she would draw defenders to her to open up the court for others. Her court vision was apparent being able to find the gaps and make the nice pass to set up her teammates for an easy bucket.
Laken Powe Laken Powe 5’11” | PF Hickory | 2024 State NC was dominant on the block as usual. She knows how to seal off her opponents and get some points even scoring a quick 10 points against a tough opponent within the first couple of minutes of play. She rebounds the ball well on both ends, and she runs the floor being ready for a pass on a fast break. Her footwork in the paint is what sets her apart and make it difficult for anyone to defend her. Having her presence inside makings her team multi-dimensional.

Brittany Campbell Brittany Campbell 5’7″ | PG Madison Central | 2025 State KY had a nice hesitation move on her way to the basket in a back and forth game against a tough opponent. She could run a clinic on passing and cutting knowing how to shift the defense to open up some lanes. She pushed the tempo taking it all the way coast to coast scoring in transition even through contact. On defense, she was diving on the floor going after loose balls and kept her opponents right where she wanted them to be.
Highlights
Kylie Fortner Kylie Fortner 5’5″ | CG Landrum | 2026 State SC showed off her long range shooting the ball from around the arc as she moved without the ball to get open and pull up for her shot off the pass. She did a nice job getting her team’s offense rolling attacking the gaps and setting up plays. On defense, she played well stripping the ball from her opponents and pushing these steals up the court.
Blythe Cunningham
Blythe Cunningham
Before we talk about the statistics that Blythe Cunningham racks up on the court, let’s talk about the intangibles. She is constantly talking on the court directing her teammates and relaying information like what defense they are in and who she is guarding. She brings a lot of good energy for her team to handle any kind of pressure. She’s quick with the ball hustling up the court on fast breaks scoring off a pass or her own dribble. She creates pressure on defense causing turnovers, and she gets set right back up in the offensive set to make sure she contributes to some points for her team whether she knocks down her own shot or makes a nice dish to her teammates.
Miyani Bullock
Miyani Bullock
Miyani Bullock took over in the second half against some tough competition driving hard to the hoop getting some points and tying the game up. She was tough on defense, too, stripping the ball and pushing the possession up the court. She didn’t back down from contact underneath the basket going up against whomever was trying to get hands in her face. She had the same composure throughout the game no matter what the score was bringing energy to her team and going to battle for some points.
