About Rory

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Rory Hickey is a 5'10" Shooting Guard, Point Guard, and Forward in the 2030 class. Hickey attends Chamberlain Middle School played Varsity 2025-2026 season and plays club basketball for Ambush North Stars. Wing Span 6”. Hickey's Player Profile was created on April 10, 2026.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very competitive player. I put a lot of time in in and out of season as I understand that you will only better yourself and your team if you can give them 110% every practice and game. You practice how you play. Go hard in practice to be able to go hard in a game. I can see it in my teammates and self when we need a push, mistakes happen learn from them and move on. Cant change what happens

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in 4-H, Rodeo Club, CPAC Volleyball, Church Youth Group, Track, and Ambush AAU Basketball. I have received a few awards in 4-H for projects and Rodeo. Made a middle school all conference for our relay team.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am in the 8th grade so an older classman to our middle school group for multiple sports and classmate. When I notice a younger classmate struggling, I offered my help if I was able to help with a situation or just a friendly face to talk to. I was in their shoes once and building confidence in myself.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The past 2 years I have lost 2 close family members. My grandma who always supported me with everything that I did and an uncle, who shared the love of basketball with me. I have given my all in everything I do, in hopes to make them proud. I got the opportunity to play on our varsity team as an 8th grader. Playing against girls with years of experience and age was a challenge but I gained from it

What type of college are you looking for?

I have one college in mind that is my dream school to attend and would love to play basketball at but understand what it will take from me academically and athletically to get there. I want to go to a university in hopes to play college ball and one that I will thrive in. I am interested in Sports Medicine/Physical Therapy
