Rowan is a sharpshooter who looks ready for a huge junior year at St. Johns. She had a notable day at REAL Train and Play. Rowan was one of the most lethal three-point threats on the court. In shooting drills, she drilled a smooth wing three over a defender closing out, and continued to pepper the nets in games. Rowan drilled a straightaway triple and added a deep bomb from the wing. Beyond shooting, Rowan was effective as a facilitator and slasher. She dished out a quick extra pass for an assist and threw a great entry pass inside for another assist. Rowan used a shifty crossover to get by a defender, switched hands, and glided to the rim for a speedy finish. She moved a defender with a sudden jab step, attacked the gap with a burst off the dribble, and converted the contested layup with a crafty inside-hand finish. Rowan was active on the boards, and she earned the inside position to score a putback.

Rowan gave CCE a spark on both ends of the floor at the PGH Michigan State Tournament with her aggressive playmaking and nonstop activity. Offensively, she showed her ability to attack defenders off the bounce, ripping baseline for a smooth inside-hand finish and using a quick crossover to create driving lanes. Rowan also made smart reads as a facilitator, including a strong backdoor cut that led to a kick-out pass for an open three, while consistently creating opportunities for teammates by collapsing the defense and dishing the ball out. She added scoring from the perimeter as well, knocking down shots from beyond the arc. Defensively, Rowan’s anticipation and hustle stood out as she jumped passing lanes for steals and created extra possessions with her energy and effort throughout the weekend.

Rowan showed off her skills at our Freshman Showcase and confirmed why she is a guard with the potential to be special at St. John’s. Rowan drilled a straightaway 3 and blew by her defender off the dribble for a left-handed layup. Rowan worked hard to guard the ball without fouling and demonstrated great footwork on a drive to the paint. She drove with her left into a jump stop, pivoted away from the defender, then sank a turnaround contested floater.
