Danyle Bowers | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Sam, a wing/forward who will be playing for Lady Tigers Elite this spring and summer, brings an impressive combination of length, skill, and versatility to the floor. She has a polished all-around game, with the ability to stretch defenses from the perimeter while also finishing effectively at the rim with either hand. Sam handles the ball comfortably, sees the court well, and makes smart decisions as a playmaker. Defensively, her size and instincts allow her to guard multiple positions, from the perimeter to the post, while contesting shots and impacting the game on the glass. With her strong frame and well-rounded skill set, she looks ready to compete at the next level. She’ll be one to watch this weekend as her team takes the court at the Bearcat Classic in Hamilton, Ohio.

Sam turned in a complete performance at the P2W Headliners Invitational in October and has been on a roll for Divine Child to start the season. She has prototypical length, fundamental skill, and accuracy from the perimeter that make her one of the best wing prospects in the class. Sam finishes with both hands at the rim, disrupts shots on defense, works hard to secure rebounds, handles the ball confidently with either hand, and sees the floor. She’s developed a strong frame and looks ready to play at the college level.

Sam has wasted no time making her presence felt to start her junior season, producing at a high level across the board. She’s a complete offensive threat who can heat up quickly from beyond the arc, needing very little space to get her shot off and comfortably extending her range well past the line. Defenses are forced to stay attached to her at all times, which opens things up for everyone else on the floor. With her ability to score in bunches and contribute in multiple areas, Sam has been one of the most impactful players early this season.

Sam turned in a complete performance at the Headliners Invitational and added more evidence to support why she’s a heavily recruited college prospect. Sam’s awareness makes her very effective as a helpside defender. She anticipates drives, rotates from the helpside, and blocks shots with excellent control of her body to avoid fouling. Sam worked hard to secure rebounds and looked to distribute the ball to open teammates. Her vision and uptempo style stood out throughout the games. She finished efficiently at the rim off two feet, handled the ball well using both hands, and shot the ball confidently from the perimeter. Sam’s perimeter game is well-known, but her complete impact and involvement in all areas at the showcase is what truly impressed me on Sunday. Sam earned All-Showcase Second Team honors.

Samantha is the kind of player who lives in the gym, and it shows every time she steps on the court. Her shooting ability is elite — she can heat up from deep in a hurry and stretch defenses with her consistent range. Beyond her scoring, Samantha’s basketball IQ stands out; she reads the floor exceptionally well, makes smart decisions, and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. With her confidence and relentless work ethic, I’m expecting her to have a huge junior season for Divine Child this winter.

Sam had a solid day for Team 5 on both ends of the court. She shoots the ball with balance and confidence from the perimeter. Sam buried a triple off the catch with great mechanics and did a great job of taking her open shots, but also spreading the wealth. She contested shots to force misses without fouling and secured rebounds. Sam made a great closeout block, sprinted ahead in transition, and caught the ball in stride with good hands to finish the layup.
