Over the summer, I comb over everything from the previous season and look for kids I didn’t see last season. Veldkamp is one of the names that stuck out. The 6’1 post from Sheboygan Christian has a versatile skillset that coaches would love. She’s shown that she can maneuver around the basket and find ways to score, step out and knock down a jumper, and her mobility on the perimeter is a plus. We’ll see what sport she wants to focus on and develop within, but there’s a future for her in basketball if she wants to take that path.
