Cunningham was another of the more difficult guards to contain throughout Friday evening in Mooresville. She is another that can be placed in a team’s lineup as either a two or at the point, but she found more success with attacking the rim on Friday. Cunningham is one of the better rebounders in the backcourt that there is and her solid defense makes her a consistent playmaking possibility on both ends of the floor. Hillside was reclassified from 4A into 7A beginning with last season and that move – along with the emergence of Cunningham worked wonders for the Hornets. Hillside improved its win total to 11 last season after Cunningham averaged 16.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.1 steals and an assist per game as she would compete in all 22 of the Hornets’ matchups.

Samiyah Cunningham Samiyah Cunningham 5'9" | CG Hillside | 2029 NC seemed to be exploding up the court being ready for the pass on fast breaks.  She had some nice takes herself handling the ball attacking the basket baseline showing off her reverse layups.  Her smoothness with the ball and her IQ showed on the defensive side of the ball making plays to stop her opponents.

An elite guard that shows she belongs even though she is only a 2029. Miyah can stop and pop beyond the arc in transition. She can make backdoor cuts and find open areas to score. She also has a mid-range game that includes floaters and pull up jumpers. Cunningham has a polished skill set that is next level potential.
