Sammy is an intriguing forward prospect who has drawn a lot of small college interest because of her talent and skillset. She is long, wiry-strong, fluidly athletic, and somewhat bouncy. She plays with a nice motor and can get out and go in transition. Offensively, she is a very good shooter, with great touch in the mid-post and range to the 3-point line. Defensively, she’s probably most comfortable defending forwards/posts, but she has the physical talent to sit down and defend the perimeter against wings and bigger guards.

A year ago, Sammy was a full-time JV performer for the Bulldogs. But after a solid Spring grassroots season, a change in coach at her high school, and then a strong showing during the scholastic live period in June, she looks to have cemented herself into a rotational role, if not a starting spot, entering the 2024-2025 season. She is long, wiry-strong, athletic, and even somewhat bouncy. She has a developing mid-post game, but she’s also comfortable defending outside. She has the potential to be an elite small college prospect.

Sammy really stood out to me at the IBCA team showcase in mid-June, and she has continued to look solid playing at the 17U level this entire weekend. She has an athletic, wiry frame, she runs the floor well and has some bounce, plus she has shown good all-around skill, but specifically in the mid-post. I think she can develop into an elite small college forward who can play in the mid-post or around the perimeter comfortably, especially if she can consistently extend her range a little.
