Not only does she stand above “the magic number” her college-ready frame is doing some damage on both ends of the court. She’s moving more fluidly on defense, especially with her lateral movement. Cortez is one of the most improved players in her class, yep, she’s a STOCK RISER, and with her maneuvering inside the paint to score with players hanging on her got my adrenaline going. Her hands and footwork looked good; she gave me the drop step as well as the short jumper, but her defense was solid, and she rebounded on both ends

Cortez has added mass, her moves around the basket as well as off the dribble are more fluid so her finishing off the dribble after contact, as well as in the paint, ala “hands and footwork” will create some problems. She is also doing a good job defensively, both in and outside the paint
