Davenport showed steady development throughout the spring and continues to look like a player with intriguing upside moving forward. She plays hard on both ends of the floor and consistently competes with energy whenever she is on the court. Her athleticism and aggressiveness allow her to impact the game in transition and around the basket, and she showed flashes offensively that suggest there is still plenty of room for growth in her game.

She also demonstrated the ability to contribute in multiple areas rather than relying on just one aspect of her game. Davenport rebounds well for her position, competes defensively, and plays with confidence when attacking opportunities offensively. As her overall offensive skill set continues to improve and she gains more varsity-level experience, she has the potential to become another strong player emerging from the Avon program.

Usually when people suggest “I don’t know what’s in the water,” they are referring to a school with a lot of height/size. In Avon’s case, however, they seem to have cornered the market recently on small guards who can fill it up. Saniyah falls right in line with that, and she has performed well as a rookie against a very solid Class 4A schedule this year. She is a capable perimeter shooter when set and in rhythm, she can get into the paint and finish around ‘bigs’, plus she is a willing & capable facilitator. Saniyah is averaging 10.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game for the Orioles.
