Omale runs the floor well in transition and creates opportunities through hustle plays and activity around the basket. Defensively, she has the tools to guard multiple positions and bring versatility to the lineup. As her offensive game continues to expand, her overall skill set gives Avon a forward with a lot of upside moving forward.

Angel is seeing a little bit of Varsity action this year, averaging 3.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a rookie. However, she is dripping with potential, and she showed that while participating in the Prep Girls Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Angel is strong, athletic, and she plays with a very nice motor. She is an excellent rebounder and defender, but look for her to diversify her game a bit as she continues to work on developing her face-up jumper and her handle. The potential is there, now she just needs to put it all together, which should happen sooner rather than later.

After watching Angel’s performance at the Freshman Showcase, it is no wonder that she earned herself a “Top Performer” title this past weekend. Angel proved to be one of the better centers during her time on Team 4, and added levels to their playing style. Most notably, Angel defended the paint by swatting the ball out of several opponent’s hands as they went for a shot. Additionally, there were several instances in which Angel was able to recover from inaccurate passes made to her, which ended up saving plays as a whole and limiting turnovers.

Angel Omale stood out on both ends of the floor throughout the showcase. She excels at running the court, consistently putting herself in position to score or defend. During the 5-on-5 session, Omale showed her defensive prowess—using her length and athleticism to block shots—while also displaying a smooth ability to finish around the rim. She impressed with her ball-handling in transition, making smart decisions and creating opportunities for herself and her teammates. As she enters her freshman year at Avon, Omale is set to be an exciting addition to the program, with the potential to make a significant impact not just this season, but over the next four years.

At the Freshman Showcase, Angel proved to be a huge benefit to Team 4 as she dominated the paint. In fact, Angel was recognized as a Top Performer during the showcase, as well. This is a major feat, which can be credited towards her defensive abilities as a center. Angel played a crucial part in many plays as she was able to defend the rim by blocking several lay-ups and creating turn-overs for her team. She also provided her team with several of her own shots, due to the fact that Angel was able to find tough passes over the heads of her defenders. Angel is a valuable center that scouts should watch, because she continues to prove her worth on the court.

Angel was one of the best forward prospects in the gym at the Freshman Showcase. Her length, athleticism, mobility, and abilities reminded me of Dania McClain, one of my favorite forward prospects from Michigan’s 2025 class, who is now at Robert Morris. Angel dominated the paint as a rim protector, rebounder, and finisher for Team 4. Nobody could box her out, and she scored offensive rebound put-backs at will. Angel caught entry passes with soft hands and finished efficiently at the doorstep. She showed her ability to step outside by draining a wing three off the bounce and backed down her defender to score a bunny off two. Angel moved her feet constantly to seal defenders, relocate, and present a target for entry passes. She anticipated passes to create steals and showed great sportsmanship after a ferocious block by helping up her opponent. Angel completely dominated and earned recognition as a Top Performer.
