While a rough afternoon at the office for Boiling Springs as a whole, it was a productive contest individually for Ezell facing defending three-time 1A champions Military Magnet. Ezell concluded her day with a 23 point-showing which actually led all scorers. Ezell possesses the height many coaches are looking for in threes, fours or fives. She has the ball handling capabilities coaches are looking for in ones and twos. Complimenting the scoring prowess Ezell has is the rebounding work she does along with all around leadership qualities and veteran instincts. Oh…did we mention she is an unsigned senior? Hint hint, college coaches.

On paper, when fans think of 5A Boiling Springs matching up with 2A Landrum, fans may not exactly expect a close contest. But that is what Ezell and the rest of her Bulldogs teammates gave the Cardinals on Saturday at Woodruff for a good portion of the matchup. Ezell led all Boiling Springs scorers that game with a 16-point effort. She is 6-foot-1 and does get plenty accomplished as a converter of high-percentage shots near the rim. But Ezell displays her offensive versatility with her willingness to play the role of point guard. Her tall stature also comes in handy when looking to bolster a team’s rebounding output – which she does.

Standouts from 5A and 4A schools make up the lion’s share of our 2024 SCBCA Girls Elite Camp preview. Ezell calls 5A Boiling Springs home and she will begin this season as her second under coach Leslie Mills. Throughout the AAU season, she runs with FCA Eagles AAU. Ezell is listed at 6-foot-1 and provides quite the interior presence for the Bulldogs. Not only does she convert on high-percentage shot opportunities, but will also bolster a team’s rebounding efforts. Ezell will also make efficient passes from the painted area to a teammate on the open floor and has no problems connecting with jump shots.

Coach Dwayne Lytle had to believe prior to the 2020-21 season that his freshman rendition that season would be one to watch. Lytle has been proven right by the stellar play of this multi-talented big. Ezell is listed at 6-foot-1 and is as much of an asset with the ball in her hands as she is when she is away from the rock. She is an at-will scorer that particularly converts on high-percentage opportunities near the rim. That is complimented by what she gets accomplished as a rebounder. During the AAU months of the spring and summer, she wore the FCA Eagles uniform and her team made a few stops on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit’s Triumph Region – including the Triumph Region Finals at Spartanburg’s Upward Star Center.

Ezell had a good spring and summer on the Grassroots Circuit and High School Circuit. Sarah really looks to work on the floor. She can pop off screens and face-up to the basket with her ability to knockdown perimeter jumpers. Sarah plays well around the ball and always looks to make a play. She works at staying active if that means grabbing a loose ball, rebound on both ends or hitting a shot. Will she play a stretch 4 down the road? She brings good versatility to the floor for the Lady Bulldogs.
