Sa’reiylle Carstens-Cornwell is having an impressive start to her freshman season with the Astros. She’s been making an impact on both jv and varsity. She has been showing great leadership skills out on the floor and knows how to take control of key situations when the game is on the line.
This week Sa’reiylle averaged 12 points, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds per game for Benson. A quick defender who knows how to be aggressive and take the ball from her opponents. She reads the court well and is good at being one step ahead of the rest.

Sa’reiylle is also a great passer and is good at getting the ball up the court in a hurry. A sharp shooter from the outside and excellent at driving and getting to the basket and drawing contact. She’s consistent from the free-throw line and in big moments, she’s not afraid to take control and knock down shots. Be on the lookout for her this season.

Sa’reiylle Carstens- Cornwell is a freshman combo guard for Benson High School. Talented enough that she made varsity to start her high school career in basketball. She is also helping out JV and putting in extra time and effort to polish her craft.
Sa’reiylle is a very smart player and has great court vision. She attacks the hoop aggressively and can draw fouls on her opponents well.
She’s a tenacious defender, and in the jamboree, she blocked a pass so hard you could hear it across the gym. It got the crowd and her team on the bench up on their feet. It was her relentless effort and determination that led the way in both games vs South Salem and Wilsonville.
