Vanna Reitsma will return this season for one more go-around with her Bellevue West T-Birds program. Reitsma is a 5’7 guard that put up just over 6.5 PPG, while also grabbing 3 RPG on both ends and dishing out 2.5 APG. This Winter this is someone that should be able to put up even better numbers than a year ago. She has been working this off-season so if she can build onto what she has put in place as a Junior, she should be able to double her numbers in most categories. Bellevue West plays some “free-flowing” basketball and with some of their top prospects transferring out, there will be more chances of opportunity to everyone else who is still on board. Players like Reitsma.

Coming off of the type of year that Bellevue West had and the Thunderbirds are going to be looking for their next big time producer over the next couple of weeks at practice before the season kicks off. One of their returning players, that made an important impact last season, is PG – Vanna Reitsma. Reitsma is going to step into her role with confidence this next six months as a Junior. If she can do that and stay focused on the goal at hand, she could put together a very impactful Winter. Reitsma will handle for her team, look to be a scorer on and off of the ball, and she will be needed to lead them defensively as well. A big key to her game is being aggressive and getting to the line. An ability that will shine through now and in the future, if she competes at the next level following high school.
