Expert Analysis
Byron Xerxes Livsey | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A paint blanket and a player who can get herself 8+ points just off block feeds and put backs. Toussaint will continue to draw attention because of her length, and if she remains an immediate threat on the defensive side, coaches will be patient as her overall offensive skill set takes shape. The value is already there with her size, activity, and ability to impact the paint, but once the offensive game continues to sharpen, the potential becomes even more clear.

The frame is what has allowed Skye to separate herself from others at her position, but she has developed a solid amount of skill to match her length. Most of that shows up on the defensive end, where she can contest, alter, and block shots simply by tracking plays and staying around the rim. She does a good job of defending without fouling and does not seem to lack confidence in that area. On the offensive side, she has good touch and feel around the rim, and she does not shy away from contact.

The potential to be a dominant paint presence is already there, and she’s one of the top shot blockers in her class. Her length, timing, and energy are what make her reliable as the last line of defense. She’s still young and has room to add to her defensive strength, but she already does enough to make players think twice before driving. On top of that, she can crash the glass for extra possessions and has the tools to be a game changer when it’s time to close out games.

Toussaint is one of the taller players in this class, and with height comes a lot of eyes from college coaches. The offensive abilities are there, and she can score from the paint to beyond the three-point line. She is not afraid to drive from the perimeter to finish at the rim, or stop and knock down the midrange… but the one thing that stands out the most is her patience on the defensive end, especially in the paint. She knows she can alter every shot, but also seems to know how easy she could get in foul trouble if she swats at everything. Strong upside.

At 6’3, Toussaint makes an impression the moment she steps on the floor – and quickly proves she offers more than just height. The 2028 forward plays up with the 16U squad and shows surprising polish, including a smooth mid-range catch-and-go move that caught our attention right away. Toussaint uses her length well to alter shots and grab rebounds in traffic. Though still growing into her frame, she’s already effective on both ends of the floor. With added coordination and strength that will come as she matures, Skye has the potential to be a scholarship-level player with plenty of upside.

Skye is still putting together her skillset as a wing, but her frame allows her to impact the game well beyond the offensive side. She is active on the boards and can cause a lot of disruption on the defensive end as well. Looking forward to seeing her continue to grow into her game.

Toussaint has definitely grown an inch or two since last year, and she’s starting to figure out how to use her length and frame to her advantage. Most of her production comes from the nail down, and she doesn’t need much to get going. She’s also the type of player who can turn into a defensive nightmare. The potential is clear.
