Macy is a mixture of her older sisters. She has the physicality and edge that Lexi brought to the frontcourt in the brief time I saw her play, and can create in her own way, which is more like Taylor, even though she’s among the best creators I’ve seen. Macy is a kid who has bought into playing winning basketball, whatever that means in a given game. She can defend multiple positions and can make plays off the dribble. She can do anything a coach may ask of her.

There is an edge Stremlow brings to the floor that’s impossible to ignore. She has shown she’s willing to play any role to help her team win games, even if that means she has to physically handle one of the top forwards in the state, even as a freshman. She’s an unflappable kid who will help any team she may play for in the future win on the margins, and that adds up over the course of a season at any level.

I was impressed by how Stremlow stepped into a more prominent role in her sophomore season at Verona. The Wildcat is a physical player who excelled around the basket because of her motor and physicality. She has always been capable of guarding multiple positions, but I’ve always appreciated her ability to physically handle defending some of the most physical kids in the Madison area, even as

, isn’t like her sister. She wasn’t a highly-touted lead guard who led the Verona offense when she arrived. Stremlow instead found a role as a wing and as a reserve post player as a 5’9 or 5’10 kid and did well in that role. She played against some physical kids who got the better of her at times, but she played with zero fear and sought out contact. Whether she stays in that role over the next three years, she’s shown some versatility in her first high school season.

There are still plenty of talented guards, and because Stremlow has some size, she’s seen most of her minutes this season in the Verona frontcourt. She’s more physical than I expected, an excellent rebounder, and attack posts off the dribble. Macy is the latest Stremlow on the girls’ side to come in and immediately impact winning for the Wildcats.
