About Sloane

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an aggressive post player. I create space in the paint with my strength and use my height to make layups, to block shots, and to secure rebounds. I can shoot from anywhere in mid-range with confidence and am confident in passing the ball to my teammates with accuracy and strength.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very head-strong athlete. I always push myself to do my best and make sure that my teammates do the same. I am mentally capable of handling any feedback that comes my way and always do my best to fix anything that is wrong. I am a very up-lifting person and always want people to have fun and work hard. I make sure to bring my team up and not let anyone get down on themselves.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In my high school, I am involved in Student Senate. I help make decisions that benefit the wellbeing and kindness levels at my school. I work to create a safe and well rounded environment for everyone. I made it into High Honor Roll in school with a non-weighted GPA of 4.0 out of 4.0.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a very hard worker. I have pushed myself over the past few years to get to where I am in this sport, and even though a lot of improvement is needed, I am proud of the work that I have put in. I also hold a leadership quality, I was the captain of my high school basketball team, leading us with confidence and a lot of teamwork.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have not faced any extreme challenges, but one challenge I have faced over the years is the mental aspect of being an athlete. I struggled with confidence for a long time and am now beginning to gain confidence and show that I am confident in my abilities.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am not looking for a specific college at the moment or a specific type, but I am keeping my options open. I would love to play basketball in College and at a level that I can be competitive.
