Talia came right out of the gates with fire, dropping in a tough 3 on the games opening possession. However, Strode is so much more than a shooter – She is a confident ball handler that always has her eyes down the court. Pitching the ball immediately in transition is a skill and it was beautiful to watch dime after dime. Talia’s quickness and IQ allow her to completely control the game whether in the half-court or in transition. Couple all that with her lock-down pressure defense and she is the real deal.

When Talia steps in the court you know you’re going to get 100% every single time. Over the years she has been known for her ability to guard the full length of the court. Talia disrupts opponents plays and force turnovers. Offensively she is a lethal 3-point shooter who should never be left open. is your girl. Arguably one of the best on ball defenders in state, she welcomes challenge of guarding the best player on the opposing team and does it well. During Chaos in Colorado, she was the anchor on her team on that end of the floor, and she was able to get into a rhythm on offense. Knocking down 3’s from the wing and getting to the basket in transition is where she was most effective.

make coaching very fun and easy, she is the perfect example of what a combo guard does. She can handle the ball in transition, initiate the offense and create for herself and others. Strode can also act as a spot up depending on the line up. Once you add all that with the pressure she provides on the defensive end of the floor and the pride she takes in not getting scored on, it makes her a player to keep an eye out for over the next year.

Strode did well facilitating for this group’s wide array of shotmakers, actively creating entry passes into the post or swinging the ball along the perimeter. The guard stayed active while off-ball, repeatedly crashing the glass.

Another one of Cherokee Trail’s most impactful two-way players, Strode got plenty of looks in the mid-range, creating space off the bounce for pull-ups. There was little opposing perimeter defenders could do to slow down the guard, getting anything she wanted inside the arc. Defensively, she was stuck like glue on opponents on or off-ball, quick to take away space from the catch.

A dynamic two-way perimeter threat, Strode finds effective shots through off-ball movement. Active searching for her spots in the halfcourt, the guard is highly proactive reading the floor for scoring opportunities. An effective point of attack defender, she gets into a low stance with active hands, deeply frustrating for opposing playmakers. Strode’s recruiting has gained momentum of late, gaining offers from MSU Denver and CSU Pueblo.
