About Taressa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to defend. My length gives me many opportunities on the defensive end to disrupt the ballhandler, shooter or passer. My job is to guard the best offensive threat to our team, usually the point guard, but I have also been in charge of shooters and post players. I get up and down the floor, I have a good pullup jumper, and can get to the rim quickly.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a good sense of humor. I love to play. I keep my emotions under control. I am a good teammate.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I enjoy my time coaching Special Olympics, I research and study strong Black leaders, especially women. During holidays, I volunteer at homeless shelters specifically food collections and distribution. I collected shoes for

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Before my mom and dad adopted me, I had been placed in a severely abusive foster home. Being the only Black player on my team, the harder I tried to be a part of my team off the court, the further I found myself on the outside looking in.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to study graphic design with an emphasis on human/computer interaction. A school with forward thinking UI/UX opportunities would be ideal.
