Expert Analysis
Martin Crownhart | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Huppert had a fantastic freshman season, with Ellsworth, averaging over 16 points per game and she looks like she has gotten even better from what I saw at The Expo. One area she stood out was as a perimeter threat, showing not only a consistent outside stroke in both the 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 parts of the day. One area of improvement was her playmaking ability getting downhill and setting up teammates for easy buckets.

The Western Wisconsin native is an excellent perimeter shooter. Huppert is more of an off-ball guard, but she can handle the ball if needed. She’s a confident player who’s played in a high-usage role at Ellsworth, and she looked comfortable creating off the dribble because she’s done it at the high school level. Nothing seemed to be too much for her offensively.

Huppert, pictured above in the banner photo, is an aggressive, bouncy and quick-driven guard who distinguishes herself through strong defensive play and a consistent readiness to shoot from anywhere on the court. The 5-foot-7 combo guard remains alert, with her eyes always scanning and constantly seeking opportunities for steals, deflections, or loose balls. Tate’s energy and agility enhance the game’s tempo, as she seamlessly changes speeds with the ball in her hands, allowing her to consistently outpace defenders. The Ellsworth 9th grader demonstrates athleticism by continually running the floor, whether that is creating actions to get an open shot or pursuing steals and tie-ups. Huppert’s fierce and crafty style of play sets a high standard for her team whenever she is on the court.
