Taya had a great game and is a tough, blue-collar type of player. She does all of the ‘dirty’ things that are needed to win and was great against Mandan . She was all over the floor and did a great job of pressuring the ball. She initiated Bismarck’s offense and had a handful of great drives to the basket. She was critical for Bismarck’s upset win on Tuesday, bringing the ‘juice’ right from the get go. Taya is leading her team with 42 defensive deflections coming into Tuesday night’s game.

She went for 8 points and 3 steals. Fettig’s stats are not going to jump off the sheet at you but if you watch her play, every coach wants a Teya fettig on the court. She does all the things that go unnoticed very well on the court. She was constantly giving the Saber guards fits on defense. It seemed like she was in the passing lanes and getting deflections all night for the Demons.

Taya was a key player in the Demons’ victory against Sheyenne. She was the most important defender in her team’s press defense. Not only did she record 5 steals, she was also responsible for forcing many of Sheyenne’s other turnovers with her on-ball pressure defense. She was quick and made it very difficult for Sheyenne players to get around her. She pressured Sheyenne into throwing the ball away and giving the Demons plenty of additional scoring opportunities.
