McKinzy has one of the purest 3 balls I have ever seen. A player that can catch fire quickly from behind the arc. She is always moving without the ball and knows how to be down and ready when the ball swings to her. She doesnt need much room to get her shot off and she knows how to elevate and release quickly. A player who shot the basketball very well over 2 days and has the ability to get to the basket when you run her off the 3-point line. A game changer.
Taylor had a very impressive showing for Monroe the two days they were competing at Camden County doing what she does best, ripping the nets from three point range. Like Hines without Acree, she was forced to assert herself more on the offensive end and she did just that in their game against Ribault. Because she had the basketball in her hands more than usual, more of her overall game was on display. Taylor is a very long 5’9. Standing next to her she looks closer to 5’10 or 5’11 and has a long wingspan. McKinzy attacked the basket with very good results and more intention and regularity than usual filling the void left by Acree. She either scored or was fouled and got to the line, more often than not, where she shot the ball very well. She was impressive as usual shooting the ball from three point range, especially off the dribble. She is excellent in catch and shoot situations, so it was good to see her take and make long shots in transition as well as in the half court after she created the necessary space. Taylor holds multiple division one offers and is a highly sought after player by several in state schools.
In a game at times that look like it was between two division one college teams, McKinzy stood out with her length and athleticism on defense and rebounding the ball which are things she has always done well. Her shooting in this game was excellent from distance as she knocked down multiple threes with poise and calm when the game was being played at a very high pace. McKinzy is an excellent slasher to the basket as well and combined with her ability to knock down long range shots makes her a player to watch in the class of 2027 in Georgia. She finished the game with 22 points.
McKinzy is one of the better slashers with or without ball in the state. She does a good job getting to basket off the dribble as well as making quick, purposeful cuts to the basket looking for backdoor passes. She finishes with nice touch and skill around the rim and is an effective shooter outside the paint for the Lady Tornadoes. McKinzy who is being recruited by multiple division one schools finished the game with a very impressive and balanced stat line of 20 points, three rebounds and steals, and four assists. Taylor has had a very solid junior season and I expect her play to continue to stay at a high level the rest of the playoffs.
McKinzy did a lot of things well for Monroe against a very solid Bob Jones team at She Got Game. McKinsey is Robin to KJ Acree’s Batman for the Lady Tornadoes and has learned how to shine in that role herself. Taylor is a very skilled guard with good size and athleticism. She is a physical player who competes on the defensive end of the floor and is not afraid of contact attacking the basket. Do not be surprised to see Taylor put up big numbers in the state tournament with all eyes focused on Monroe’s star, Acree. McKinzy understands the game and her role well. She should be a player that college coaches covet around the state.

and her importance to the success of the Golden Tornadoes. McKinzy is the primary beneficiary of Acree’s drive-and-kick assists. Taylor is a very good three-point shooter. She’s wiry, athletic and skilled on both ends of the floor. Taylor racked up assists and provided versatile defense inside and out. McKinzy has a bright future and has great synergy with Acree.
