About Tessa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a 5’7 point guard who prides myself on setting my teammates up for opportunities, scanning the floor, and playing composed. I love to push the ball in transition and attack the basket when I can.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality on the basketball court is very leadership-like. I get very serious and locked in on the court but outside of basketball I love hanging out with friends and family and having a good time.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in clubs at school. I am part of the Girls Leadership Club and apart of the 2028 Class council at my school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have very good leadership skills and teamwork because I have volunteered as a camp counsler at a summer camp for the past 4 years and it has helped me to be more outgoing and made me gain more leadership skills.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can play basketball but also have a good academic structure.

She’s stepped into more responsibility and worn it exceptionally well. Tessa’s overall improvement has been on full display; there’s just a different level on comfort with the ball in her hands now.

Tessa earned Second Team honors in Division 1 after averaging 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game during a strong sophomore season. She has a very tight handle that makes it difficult for defenders to pressure the ball. She does a good job getting to her spots in the mid-range for pull-up jumpers and can also knock down three-pointers with confidence. When she drives she plays under control, jump-stopping and using pump fakes to step around defenders. Her floater is another effective weapon in the paint.

Tessa’s game is growing wonderfully over time. This is a player that provides value in a lot of areas. She’s quick to break up plays on defense, makes the extra pass, pushes the tempo in transition, knocks down her free-throws and playmakers are able to easily find her on the move. The craftiness along with patience as a driver must be spoken for too.
