The spring and summer months have been a banner one for Delaney’s recruiting fortunes. In the last several months, she has picked up in-state offers from Limestone University, Francis Marion and Clafin – one of the two Orangeburg-based HBCUs – but eventually committed to Francis Marion. Delaney is another who participates in AAU with SC Future. Delaney comes through with clutch plays as a defender in addition to letting everyone know how skilled she is as a rebounder. Delaney will also make the correct passes to her teammates and uses her 6-foot-1 frame to convert on high-percentage shots near the rim. Her height combined with her length also make her a proficient shot blocker.

We have spotlighted athletes who are playing in the 2A and 5A ranks and now we turn our attention to another Midlands school – 4A A.C. Flora which is located east of downtown Columbia in Forest Acres.

A number of its star athletes across a plethora of sports signed National Letters of Intent at its Signing Day event – including senior guard Trinity Delaney Trinity Delaney 6'1" | PF AC Flora | 2023 State SC . After she earns her cap and gown at A.C. Flora, she will be a Falcon-turned-Patriot as she has committed to Francis Marion.

Delaney is another notable from the Patriots’ 2023 class that will arrive after this academic year. Kenzie Feagin Kenzie Feagin 5'5" | SG Trinity Collegiate | 2023 State SC of Trinity Collegiate is another 2023 commit to Francis Marion and both have established chemistry from their time playing AAU ball together with SC Future.

Delaney also fielded offers from Claflin as well as Limestone University.

In the first year of former Airport coach Jacob Thompson’s tenure with the Falcons, the team finished 19-9 (8-2 in conference) and also went on a deep run in the 4A tournament before being eliminated in a close contest against eventual Upper State runners-up Catawba Ridge.

Delaney seems to be getting healthy and she’s getting back to her old self. Trinity can play around the cup or use the turnaround jumper to score the ball. She can stretch the defense with her ability to face-up and knockdown the elbow jumper at times. Trinity is starting to put the ball on the deck and drive it from the top of the key with 2-3 dribbles.

Between Daniels, Johnson and now Delaney, SC Future is well-represented on our list. Delaney played the 2021-22 season under first-year coach Jacob Thompson, who accepted the Falcons job after departing from Airport. She can come up with big plays on defense along with showcasing how gifted she is as a passer and rebounder. Delaney stands at 6-foot-1 and will also put that imposing height advantage to good use by converting on easy baskets close to the rim. Not only does she have plenty of height but she also has length which enables her to challenge and block an opponent’s shots.

Delaney is back from injury and looks ready to go for the Lady Falcons. Trinity still wearing a right knee wrap was able to slash to the cup at times this summer. She can play with her back to the basket and at times connect on a short turnaround jumper.
