is such a dynamic ball handler being able to get by her opponents with her speed and change of direction moves. Her awareness and direction gives her the leadership of a floor general knowing how to make sure her teammates are going to come away with some points. On the other end, she’s a tough defender using her quickness to block the path of her opponents.

Tristan led her team all the way to the state championship game before falling in overtime. She had a spectacular senior season averaging 17 points and seven assists. Shivers shot the ball at a high level shooting 56% from the floor and over 40% from beyond the arc. Those stats secured her a spot as one of the top players in the state of North Carolina to close out her final season. Best of luck at Bellarmine University!

Shivers did everything she could to ensure Hoggard would be the last 8A team standing. That may not have been the case, but Shivers saved some of her best for last as the senior led the Vikings’ way with 16 points. Shivers also won Most Outstanding Player honors for the East Region. Much of what Shivers got accomplished at the free throw line. The Vikings attempted 20 shots from the free throw line and 13 of them were successful. Shivers made eight of her 12 attempts from the charity stripe. She is one of four that is part of Hoggard’s 2026 graduating class.

showed off her ball handling changing her speed to get to the rim and hit some floaters. She was driving and waiting for the open lane making sure she can hit the bucket off the glass. She even got inside for some rebounds using offensive boards to show off her finesse with the ball to score some points.

is currently leading her team in points, steals, and assists showing how much of a full court threat she is. She works her magic off the dribble attacking the gaps, getting the pass to her teammates, or taking it right to the hoop herself. She can get open without the ball working to get some space and showing off her range off the pass. She uses her IQ on the other end to grab steals and push the tempo the other direction.

is a special point guard playing consistently and composing herself no matter what is going on in the game. Her ability to use hesitation moves to blow by her defenders is fun to watch as she finishes at the rim or she makes the right pass to her teammates for their own points. She uses many types of fakes throwing off her defenders and getting the open look hitting her jumpers from all over the court.

is a vocal floor general using what she sees to help her teammates get into position and get a play going. She handles the ball making adjustments to get the pass to her teammates, and she can attack the basket herself. She hit her open teammates for their own shots timing her passes well. Her defense was fun to watch coming up with steals and points.

Shivers scored nearly 14 points per game last season. She also passed for 7 assists. She has a special ability to find her teammates – on time and on target – in the open court or in the half-court offense. Shivers can consistently score at the rim or shoot the three. She is also very talented at earning trips to the foul line. A year ago, Shivers earned 120 trips to the free throw line. She is a special talent who competes on the court. Shivers is a court leader and a true team-player.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for really good point guards… and Tristan Shivers is a GREAT point guard. Leading her team to a 31-1 record, she averaged 7.9 assists — which led North Carolina. The sophomore guard is also a crafty scorer from all three levels as she averaged 14 points a game on mostly in-the-paint twos. Her ability to get into the paint and collapse a defense is simply unparalleled. She was voted District POY as a sophomore.

Shivers is a talented guard. Shivers is already skilled but has the chance to continue to grow over the next few years. She averaged a team high 14.6 PPG. She also can score at all three levels. She has excellent form on her jumper with range to the three point line. She attacks closes outs and gets to the basket where she can finish in a variety of ways. She facilitates for her team, (7.7 APG), making sure that she gets her teammates involved. Defensively, she plays with a high motor and creates steals and turnovers.
