The theme for Greenwood in 2025-26 will be unfinished business given the Eagles were 5A Division 2 championship participants from last season. One more season of Johnson will be key in Greenwood’s objective to finish said business. Recently, Johnson secured an offer from Parkland College in Illinois. One can see why Cobras coach Jean Demosthenes would be eager to bring this gifted frontcourt force to the Midwest. Johnson played in all 28 games last season for the Eagles and averaged 13.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest. She ran with FBC Next Up SC Lady Wolves during travel ball and her Greenwood bunch will be among the 5A Division 2 state favorites heading into this season.

Much of the roster for FBC Next Up Lady Wolves 17U NE2K is comprised of standouts from Greenwood – last season’s 5A Division 2 runners-up. Despite the 51-42 decision that went in favor of Livingston Ladies 2026 NE2K, Johnson still ensured that the victory the Louisiana team would earn would be hard-fought. Her scoring and rebounding already make her a force to be reckoned with in the frontcourt and that is complimented by her ability to convert on tough shots. Johnson also understands that playing in the paint means playing physical – and that means drawing contact which can place her at the free throw line. She is a tall task to game plan for on both ends of the court – and not only because of her stature and interior presence.

Johnson is the primary interior stalwart for a 5A Division 2 Greenwood team that were Upper State champions last season. She averaged 13.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 steals and just over a block per contest last season. Johnson defensively can help out on double teams and displays her confidence with her willingness to call for the ball when she believes she can make a play. And with the six-foot stature she brings, Johnson can make plenty of plays. She will also finish with the left hand and will be ready to box out in case of an opposing team’s missed free throw. Johnson is also a potent shot blocker and can come from out of nowhere for rejections.

Greenwood was the first team to get into the win column as the Eagles earned a 45-33 victory over 5A Gaffney to remain undefeated for the 2023-24 campaign. Johnson finished with 17 points. Gaffney’s defense had very few answers for the star sophomore for 4A Greenwood. While she is listed as a small forward, she displays her versatility with her ball handling capabilities and willingness to attack the rim. Johnson also managed to cut through Gaffney’s defense on a number of occasions to bolster the output of the Eagles offense. Johnson will also maintain a high level of activity even if the ball is not in her hands.

Prep Girls Hoops first became familiar with Johnson during the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit when she competed with Greenwood Storm – the 14U Triumph Region champions. Johnson has brought her many talents from one team with Greenwood in its name to another with Greenwood in its name. She is a force to be reckoned with particularly near the rim. Johnson puts a good deal of emphasis on ball handling and will also get opposing ball carriers in precarious positions. Johnson is also effective as a transition runner. She scored __ points in what was a dominant performance for the Eagles over the Trojans.

Those included the Music City Showdown in Franklin, Tennessee and the Triumph Region Finals at the Upward Star Center in Spartanburg where Greenwood Storm won the 14U championship. She will look to translate that impressive play and high energy into a great freshman season with the 4A Eagles as star teammate Wardlaw enters her final season.
