A consistent shooter in the three events I had the opportunity to watch this summer. A shooter with range on the catc no wind up needed. Impressive was the step back foot work to create little more space to shoot the jumper. A scrappy player on both ends of the floor that did not mind getting physical for a 50/50 ball.

A combo guard that plays more of the shooting guard because of her shooting albitites. A high percentage shooter that moves without the ball getting her feet set and ready for the kick out. The respect of the range stretches the defense coverage allowing her to attack the close outs getting to the paint touch. Good vision in seeing the help and kicking to the opposite corner.

On defense does a good job at playing the gap getting her hands on the ball several times for the steal. A scrapper on defense that will chase down the ball to get the possession for the team. Looking forward to following this 2028 during her sophomore season.

A 918 guard with some RANGE from deep. Most of her threes are from a step, or even multiple steps behind the three point line. Primarily a tape that plays to her strengths as a shooter, but there’s promise on defense and as a hustler mixed in. Chasing down and getting to the floor for hustle plays. Even a nice on the ball defense poke out late in the tape. Which as a note from a person with loads of experience making highlight tapes; try to front load a video with plays like that in order to grab attention. As defensive plays and deep threes are more of an attention grabber than free throws or simple passes. While the later have a place in videos, the start of tapes need to be putting the best foot forward possible.

With a quick and fluid release, Darden’s shooting capabilities are what first standout. And while she’s an off the ball weapon, she’s capable on on the ball as well. Heady player, who plays with her head up in transition, making the correct passes ahead. Nailed a nice 18 footer off a ball screen when the defense went under. Shooting and good decision making are a quality foundation of any prospect headed into high school.
