Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am the starting 1 for my club team and play the 1 and the 2 for my school team. I enjoy making my teammates look good and can be a pass first PG or scorer, depending on what my coach wants. I am an aggressive defender and rebounder and am usually assigned to guard the other teams’ best player. My coach calls me, “the human press breaker” (thanks Coach Geoff).
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I work really hard on an off the court. I never want to let my teammates down. I sometimes can look like I’m mad on the court, I’m not, but try to be locked in to not give the other team any motivation. I’ve learned to shake off mistakes, next play. I have a goofy side and like to make my friends laugh. My dad says I’m a reluctant leader and that people are drawn to me.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I received the, “President’s Award for Educational Excellence”, for having maintained a 4.0 GPA, throughout all of middle school.
I am a member of the Oklahoma Middle School Honor Society and recently elected to the incoming high school student council.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
My dad talks to me all the time about, “servant leadership”. I feel like I am able to practice this as the PG. I put my teammates’ needs before my own. I have helped pick up trash on the road by our neighborhood and picked up fallen tree limbs at our elderly neighbors house, after a tornado went through.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
My club team broke completely up 2 years ago. They were all my friends. It hurt a lot and made it hard for me to continue on without them in my club. I loved my coaches and didn’t want to leave, just because they did. I stayed, the team rebuilt and we have a stronger, closer team then ever!
What type of college are you looking for?
My career goal is to be a veterinarian. I would love to finish my basketball career at a school that would help and support that goal. I am loyal and am looking for a school that feels like home.
