Hayes got off to a slow start, but as the day went on she shook off the rust, settled in, and found her rhythm. She was a force on the glass, using her strength and patience to control the paint. Defensively, she displayed impressive versatility – battling with bigger opponents inside while also switching onto guards on the perimeter and holding her own. On offense, she showed strong hands catching passes in traffic and even flashed the ability to grab a defensive rebound and push the break herself. With her toughness and versatility, Hayes has plenty of upside to build on.
